Tan Dinh
Gretna, LA
Tan Dinh is a Vietnamese joint on the West Bank of New Orleans. It use to be in a smaller, ghetto, hole-in-the-wall kinda building but about 2 years ago it moved into a larger, cleaner location. The food hasn’t changed much.. it’s still (personally) my favorite Viet food in the city.
Banh Cuon Thap CamBanh Cuon Thap Cam is composed of steamed flour rolls stuffed with minced pork, shrimp, bbq pork & charbroiled pork served with bean sprouts, mints, cucumber, fried onion and nuc mam. It’s a relatively light dish.. it never fills me up but it hits the spot everytime! There are many other popular Vietnamese dishes offered at Tan Dinh.. check it out for yourself. It’s all good!
Taro Tapioca ShakeAnd don’t forget to pick up one of their Tapioca drinks on your way out. It’s like dessert in a cup.. an Asian milkshake, per se.. haha

LOVE banh coun!
i <3 viet food! the banh cuon looks fantastic = )
that looks delicious! there’s no way that i can re-create that in my own kitchen.
i’ve only been to new orleans once but it is definitely a foodie town! all the dishes on your xanga look mouth-watering. when i was there, a friend recommended the charbroiled oysters at Drago’s. it was a bit of a drive but worth it.
i can’t wait for a new york review. =)
