McD’s Cheeseburger vs Doritos X-13D
Anytown, USA
Exhibit A: Mcdonald’s Cheeseburger (95 cents)
Mickey D’s CheeseburgerExhibit B: Doritos’ X-13D (99 cents)
X-13D Doritos ChipsThe other day I stumbled upon this new Doritos bag, Flavor: X-13D.. I took a bite into the chip and the first thing the came to mind? CHEESEBURGER! It gave me this funny nostalgic feeling.. I haven’t eaten a McDonald’s Cheeseburger in over 6 years! So I drove up the the dreaded food empire and purchased one. I had to know if my tastebuds were decieving me. They were not.. The flavor profile was exactly the same, only difference? texture..
My conclusion?
If I can eat a chip and get the same nostalgic feeling as eating a whole cheeseburger… I’ll take the chip! You gotta try it out for yourself.. It’s interesting.. and I know they pump in all kinds of artificial flavoring into it, but just leave your “gourmet” side at home and bring out the kid in you for once.. And if you think about it, that’s what some of the top chefs in the world do, they give you something, you taste it expecting one thing and you get blown away by some other unique flavor. It’s all about abandoning your senses.. or is it embracing your senses?

niiice…this is different!
X-13D? What does that stand for? I’m curious about the taste now! I’m not a cheeseburger fan but for some reason, I ate it while drunk in NY this past weekend. I realized what it was and flung it at the tv. Very mature.
Wow, I didn’t expect this $95cent Mickey D’s cheeseburger post from you.
I guess anythings possible =]
i’m wondering whether my bf would be excited or sad that his beloved cheeseburger could possibly be subsituted with some chips.
Thought that x-13-d tasted like a hotdog with ketchup. I mean on top of the Dorito taste. Come to California and taste the In’n'Out Burger with grilled onions and compare that to McDonald’s.
Um… a pizza-flavored chip? Really? I am a strong believer in that pizza should be the only thing pizza-flavored. I guess that’s just me though =)
AArrrr… McD’s cheeseburgggeerr.. I’m getting nauseous already. It’s actually edible when it’s hot from the kitchen but just wait 5 minutes and it congeals together. I never make my babies eat that stuff. YIKES!
interesting. i didnt know they had a chip that tasted like that.
very interesting observation. i’m just gonna have to take your word for it because mickey d’s grosses cathy d out!
i had actually just returned from a McDonalds when my friend approached me with a bag of said X-13D.
i completely agree with the tastes being exactly the same.
