  • Cupcake Beach

    Destin, FL

I just took a break for a few days.. Laid on the beach in Destin and soaked up the sun! It’s only 4 hours away from New Orleans, the sand is a soft white and the water is beautifully clear. You don’t need to go all the way down to Miami to find a great beach…

    Destin’s Beach

The worst cupcakes in paradise! Seriously..

    Cupcake

I was shopping at one of the outdoor malls, I saw this little cupcake stand and thought, “Cool, I can go for a cupcake right now”. I not only paid $3.50 for it, but it was the WORST cupcke I’ve ever eaten! Imagine making a sand castle then breaking off a piece and having it crumble in your hands. That’s the exact texture of the cupcake! Dry and crumbly… It was a sad moment in my culinary life. One of the first cupcakes I’ve ever eaten that wasn’t moist. Major disappointment

  • Dry cupcakes are a sad thing indeed :(

  • blech!! i had a similar experience with a cupcake i bought near my college campus this past spring break. a little cupcake shack opened up near campus and i was so psyched about it because i had a little dream that i would open a little cupcake cafe near the school! but i bought one for about $3.50 and it was crumbly, dry, and very not tasty. : (

  • haha it was probably made by the sand on the beach!

  • aww thats so sad! you liek build up all these GREAT expectations about this cupcake and splat! it disappoints. ah well. at least you know better for next time. by the way. i have a question for you. have you ever heard of cutco knives and are they really as bad as everyone says they are or did they just have liek a bad experience? because i’m selling them right now and they seem fine to me but i’m a little worried that what other people are saying is actually true and i’m actually trying to sell a crap product so i was just wondering if you’ve ever had any experience with them .thats all. =D you dont have to answer my question if you dont have the time but i just thought that an experienced chef and obviously an expert in this kinda stuff would know the real deal and whats just rumors. mmkay. hahaa =D

  • man that sucks major butt… and it looks pretty good too… maybe i’m just hungry hahaha…

  • That’s a gorgeous beach picture.  The water looks much more clear than when I was there several years ago.

Thanks for the warning about Cupcake Beach!

  • when I bit into the cupcake I accidentally breathe in and all the dryness of the cupcake went up my nose… I started to choke on it!

  • Dammit, I’m jealous………about you going to Destin, not the cupcake.  Glad you got to have a bit of relaxation on the beautiful beach.  :)

  • Ohdamn this xanga is awesome. I’m gona subscribe, so that better be alright…

Anyway despite it being so dry…it still looks really nice =/
