With barbeque so widespread in the South, you gotta go through a lot of “not so good” places before you find something you can be happy with. The Texas Bar-B-Q Company is one of the better bbq places in the New Orleans area. It’s location is hidden behind another noteable bbq place called Corky’s. In Metairie off Veterans Blvd on Houma Blvd. You can miss it, so pay attention..

BBQ RibsEverything is cooked really well. The Ribs were slow cooked and provided a very tender meat. The pulled pork was also very moist and tender. My only complaint would have to be the overload of sauce. I’m not a huge “drench my ribs with sauce” guy.. if you are, this is the place for you. The onion rings were really good and large.. now that I think about it, all of the portion sizes were huge. Come with full stomachs and leave very satisfied! =)

at least you live in the south where there are at least several good ones to choose from. In the bay area, it is really few and far in between to find anything decent.

Yeah, I thought that was too much sauce. There’s nothing wrong with Jiffy’s cornbread mix. America’s Test Kitchen even recommends it! And those onion rings looks one of a kind.

Yum… I love rubs more then sauce. Even so, that does look like an overload. Looks tasty nonetheless… And who doesnt love Jiffy cornbread???

too much sauce! i haven’t had bbq in NOLA (why bother when there’s so much SEAFOOD? mmm…). i did visit the original Corky’s in Memphis. it’s delicious, even better than Rudy’s in Texas.
