McGuire’s Irish Pub
Destin, FL
The food in Destin wasn’t the best food in the world. It makes me much more grateful for my New Orleans cookin! We did however dine at this Irish pub that served really good food and offered excellent service! McGuire’s Irish Pub, money floods the ceiling and it’s large portions make it really hard for you to leave disappointed.

Beer samplingOne of my friends ordered their beer sampling. Six different beers served in double shot portion, it allows you to taste it all! For only 4 bucks! I was thinking about getting my own, but the beach had my number. The huge loafs of their complimentary bread was coated with a sweet glaze and served with their house butter. It was soft like cake! =)

Flash fried Calamari
Fish and ChipsFor appetizer we had the Flash-fried Calamari, which was seasoned perfectly and cooked just right. It’s hard for me to find good “Fish and Chips” in New Orleans. So when I travel and it’s on the menu at a semi-decent looking restaurant, I usually give it a shot. I believe this one of the best fish and chips I’ve ever tasted! And it’s from an Irish restaurant, not English. The fish was moist and flavorful. The fries had very nice crispness to it and the coleslaw wasn’t too bad!
Try out McGuire’s if you’re ever in Destin, you’ll be pleasantly surprised! =)

I fell in love with the stuff 4 years ago when I was traveling in Ireland. MMmmmmmMMMmm…so good!
the calamari looks real nice, doesn’t seem like it would’ve been too crunchy or too soft

What I like most about fish and chips is the tartar sauce. If the fish and chips are great, but the tartar sauce is terrible… it kinda ruins the meal for me. Sounds kinda weird… but I loveeee tartar sauce!
I LOVE McGuire’s, used to eat there when I lived in Florida. Their steak is one of the most tender ones I’ve ever had. Definitely worth your while and the $$. Great atmosphere too.
