Any City, WorldSo my chef told me a while back..
“You become a chef when you learn to cook eggs… each ruffle on a chef’s toque represents one way to cook an egg, once you’ve mastered each way, you become a Master Chef!” I believed him.. so I set out and learned all the ways to cook an egg.. I scrambled, poached, boiled, fried, flipped, souffled, folded, tempered, deviled.. etc.. you name it, I tried it. Was I able to conquer the humble Egg? No.. not even close. lol I love eggs.. so versatile and so delicious! I respect the egg..
This brings me to my next question…
How do you like your Eggs?? poached, scrambled, over-easy, sunny-side up, hard boiled, soft boiled, made into an omelet, deviled…??
What’s your favorite preparation of this classic staple?
If I can have eggs for every meal of the day (without the risk of having an artery clogged) I would do just that..
My favorite? Scrambled.. For the fluffiest eggs you’ll ever eat, try this recipe..
A couple of eggs, 1/3 cup heavy whipping cream, salt and pepper.. Cooking in some butter on high heat, you want to try to keep the eggs together, do not violently scramble them! Fold them until cooked, this creates nice layers and fluffy eggs…
Viet Steak and Eggs… mmm

I love my eggs scrambled.
Especially tamago style from Japan.. the omelet? :] Yummers.
lol my favorite kind is sunny side up. I love spreading the yolk over toast
Over-easy!
Sunny side up on toast.
I like eggs with tomatoes and scallion
over medium with a pinch of black pepper!
i like them scrambled but i scramble them differently but ive never heard anybody cook it the way i do
i mix one or two eggs with some milk and pepper and salt and whisk. then i put into the microwave for 30 seconds until they are fluffy. these ones are so yellow and they taste way different ;]
,x
I actually am not such a fan of eggs however I have been known to eat the occasional hard boiled or deviled!
SCRAMBLED
maybe with cheese.
i like it rawwww
I like em cooked allll the wayyyyyyy.
i like my eggs “soft in the middle”; but no one i know calls them that.
i also love deviled eggs. maybe i’ll make some tonight!
I have my own omelette and scrambled recipe but I do like the sound of that fluffy omelette of yours.
Eggs benedict, poached medium
Scrambled. Or boiled, sliced, and lightly sprinkled with salt. I also make this thing that could be called ‘egg in a hole’, where I cook the egg in the hole of a slice of bread. Kinda like French toast
I like my eggs with Feta cheese.
That recipe sounds really good.
Ever see “Runaway Bride” ? He asks her ex fiancees ”How she liked her eggs”?
Sunny-side up with soysauce (shoyu) poured on top of it. With rice. It’s so good!
Oh, and hams with sunny-side up works nice too. : )
Scrambled eggs are the best. Thanks for the fluffy scrambled eggs tip!
Raw is good too. In the Japanese food, we have a thing called “Tamago gohan” which basically means “egg rice” Of course, the egg must be the very fresh type and has been checked through for disease and viruses. .. There used to be a lot of those for sale at Japanese markets. There was one type that we always used to buy, but the man who was running the egg company retired, so it’s hard to find them now. A little bit more expensive too. BUT ANYWAYS.
You basically pour the raw egg onto a bowl of rice. Stir it up, and add soysauce to your favored amount, and stir again. And voila! It’s done. It might sound disgusting to others who have not tried it (or unless you have but it’s still not likeable to your taste), but I swear, it’s the best thing in the world. At least for me : ) Just thought I’d share it with you
Hard Boiled.
Hard boiled, cooked all the way with NO gross softness/liquidy yuck. With salt and pepper and some tomatoes beside it it’s so yummy!
I have successfully cooked about every possible egg variation. I love them, but my all time favorite is the good old fashioned over medium with ham, potatoes and toast. I have made omlettes with just about everything in them (including spaghetti). Eggs are fun!
Sunny side up. With a sprinkling of salk and black pepper. White buttered toast. Plus I’d like some jelly or jam and lots of crisp bacon. And I’ll have coffee with cream and a small glass of tomato juice.
Runny, so I can soak the bacon with the yolk! Oh yeah!
Soft boiled.
Over easy with toast…
Or maybe scrambled with cheese. Both are amazing.
i like them India style. really scrambled into bits with tons of spices and jalepenos and onions.
Scrambled, wet but not runny, or poached, or hot soft-boiled, or cold hard-boiled with just some salt.
I really like eggs.
i dont eat them i cook um
poached, poached, poached. eggs benedict! but all kinds of poached.
that’s exactly how my mother taught me to make my scrambled eggs.
Scrambled eggs on toast!
I’d like my eggs fertilized. just kidding
Either scrambled and cooked enough that they’re almost completely dry, or in an omelet. Now you’ve got me hungry for a good omelet.
I can hardly choose just one – although one of my favorites is scrambled with little tiny bacon strips. Take a block of pre-sliced bacon and cut across the strips making tiny mini strips. cook those, drain most of the fat leaving some to flavor the eggs, scramble over the bacon and enjoy.
Although who could resist a plain scramble, whited fried- or fried over hard, deviled, egg salad……..
Scrambled with scallions. Yum. =]
Cheesy eggs.
I like sunny side up on a sandwich too. =)
easy over sprinkled with cheese
and toasted french bread. yum~
Scrambled does it for me. I usually use milk instead of cream. I’m not too picky about the lightness, but sometimes I’ll make it over a double boiler to control the heat. If I’m making an omelette, I generally cook sausage or bacon in the saute pan first, using the fat to grease the pan, then pour my eggs in, and throw some cheese in the middle for good measure. Mmmmm.
Another preparation I’ve seen that I really like is cutting a circle out of slices of toast, then putting some eggs sunny-side up in the hole. Yolks and toast is good eats.
if there was ONE thing i had to eat for the rest of my life only it would be eggs….
think ive tried and tested every which way possible to cook eggs….
( we were playing with the anti-griddle and nitrogen too!)
poached or soft boiled
I enjoy a good custard
I like my eggs un-fertilized.
soft-scrambled along with green onions, tomatoes, havarti cheese, chopped spinach, and mushrooms
Over easy w/ a slighty runny yolk
Scrambled, o’ course. With a bit of bacon on the side, and a split biscuit topped over with butter and sausage gravy.
We call them ‘dippin eggs’…aka soft boiled. 4 minutes, put in the water as soon as it starts to boil. Pinch of sea salt. The ‘dippers’ are toasted baguette, cut into ‘sticks’.
I like my eggs scrambled usually.
I also like omelettes, but only cheese and sometimes ham.
I can’t stand soft boiled eggs. They’re the only egg I will not eat ever.
Scrambled with nuoc mam and rice. ::drool::
Scrambled egg’s with ketchup
and if your from jersey, with some pork roll
I like my eggs poached in white vinegar, seasoned liberally with s and p and topped with a nice white wine hollandaise with a spring of parsley. (I love to cook, lol)
i can have eggs however
)
but sunny side up is awfully nice
Over medium. I do like it when the yolk is still a little runny.
sunny side up
i like to suck out the yolk…
it’s kind of embarrassing doing that in a restaurant though
Poached egg on sourdough muffin, fresh crab on top and a tablespoon or less of hollandase sauce. Second favorite, Huevos Rancheros.
Sunny side up.
With toast and or cheese grits.
Love. Eggs.
Not a fan a quiche so much…
hard boiled whites with salt and pepper, or other seasoning. =D Mmm… lol this entry isnt for the vegan =P.
Scrambled with blue cheese and red onions.
Check out my new food blog! =) http://www.epicuriousdiva.blogspot.com
Tea egg: egg boiled in tea
vinegar egg: egg boiled in vinegar w/ sauce =D yummy
steamed egg: egg mixed w/ water and add toppings
I like that quote from your chef. And I like my eggs poached and runny.
This is possibly the most annoying flash animation and song on Earth, but it has everything in the world to do with eggs and their lovers.

woah, EGGS. Are deviled eggs the one where you boil and then take out the yolk and re pipe it back in?
If so, i’ll give you a deviled egg recipe right now! Gather yourself some eggs, boil them ( do not overboil, for this will result in dry and grayish colored yolks ) Cut it in half lengthwise, carefully remove yolk and place in another bowl. Gather some Nice ripe avocadoes, mash avocado flesh in bowl and add mayonaise( the acidity should prevent avocadoes from turning color ) Add seasoning to tase. The avocado mix should not be chunky, food proccesor/blendor if needed. Mix yolk and avocado, be sure to check for consitency, you do not want it too dry nor do you want it too runny, you’ll have to be able to pipe it. Grab yourself a star tipped piping bag, carefull pipe back into egg, sprinkle a SMALL amount of red sweet praprika and 2-3 BLACK sesame seeds. Serve as appy with some palate cleanser, or something refreshing. On a bed of fresh ice cold lettuce perhaps..with a sweet tangy vinaigrette.
mmmmm, today i had one poached egg on multi-grain toast with cottage cheese and fresh fruit on the side. it was delish.
But, but, but….my favorite way to have my eggs is over-easy so that i can dip my toast into the yolk.
I like my eggs soft scrambled, 3 eggs whipped with a little water, salt and pepper. In a hot buttered pan like you said gently stirred tenderly with a spatula.
I also like them with rice, saute a little left over rice, about half a cup in butter until it pops and is heated through, then add a couple of egg, whipped and gently stir together until the eggs are cooked ,pepper and salt to taste…i ate this a lot when i was a kid, when your poor and you have a lot of people in your family you look for ways of stretching food, enjoy!
chow
where did your go to school? I also love quiche made with pepper jack,
chow
Fluffy in an omelette, filled with spicy italian sausage and mozzarella cheese!!! Add fresh biscuits, jam and hazelnut coffee with cream (real stuff, nothing powdred) all this makes for a great meal.
I never thought about the chefs toque standing for anything!!!
I like eggs so much, I will eat it regardless of how it was prepared.
But if I had to choose, then sunny side up.
a wet scrambled. next favorite would be over easy.
Eggy in a Basket.
Y’know. Take a piece of toast, take out the center of the toast with a ring or a cup. Crack the egg in the center. let it set and flip it.
Best thing ever.
Egg in a basket – cut/tear a round hole in the middle of a slice of bread, drop it in the frying pan, and break the egg into the hole. Cook it like a fried egg. It’s so yummy!
Poached with a touch of hollandaise sauce
raw over some steaming rice mixed with vegetables and beansprouts and hotsauce. then when you stir it up the egg cooks allover the rice grains. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. llllllloooooooooots of egg and hot sauce.
Scrambled or deviled. YUM!
definitely sunny side up….. or soft boiled!
scrambled. sunny side up is too hard to make. i always mess up the yok.
Another feature? They should pay you for this…
with no rice… scrambled, with ketchup. with rice but no meat… scrambled, with ketchup. with rice AND meat (bacon, sausage, etc.), sunny side up.
I am hungry.
scrambled. always.
the viet steak and eggs looks super good. it’s making me hungry now. =)
scrambled, for sure. gordon ramsay has this youtube clip showing how to make the perfect scrambled eggs… i use that as my method… im gonna try yours too though. i also enjoy it sunny side up, with a runny yolk… good for dipping toast!
For a special treat, I make and omelette using three eggs, a modest amount of chopped onion, fried in the pan first, a generous portion of sliced mushrooms, some “Old” cheddar cheese grated, one quarter cup of 2% milk, and a few slices of ripe tomato. Just fry the ingredients together, laying the tomato slices on the the open omelette and allowing the whole to cook for a while till the milk and eggs are no longer liquid.
Then using two egg turners roll the omelette into an attractive bronze-colored roll. Serve with toast and marmalade! Serves two! Mmmmmmmmmmm! Gooooooooood!
David
ps Send me a message and I’ll discuss other attractive variations with you!
Definitely Sunny Side up, delish! But Eggs Benedict is my fave, too! Yummy!
Poached so that the white is firm and the yolk is warm and runny.
1) omelete style with chopped onions, cheese, and medium salsa OR
2) over easy with a dash of soy sauce with a toasted baguette
i like sunny side up, and ordering hash browns and dipping them in the yoke… mmm
eggs scrambled pls
I would love to try those scrambled eggs.. but if you just keep folding them, how do they get scrambled? Or can you violently scramble them after fully cooked?
deviled. <3
Over medium. I like to use my bacon and toast to sop up the runny part of the yolk! YUM! Makes me hungry!
Eggs are one of my faaaaavorite foods. I make them over medium (no crispy burned white is a must for me) and top them with avocado and Tabasco Chipotle sauce!! (And salt, of course.) Oh, & don’t forget a toasted side of English muffin to soak up that sauce and yolk.
Mmmmmm….
I have to pick just one? No way. Scrambled, Hard boiled, over-hard and omelet.
I love scrambled eggs. Sometimes the simple boiled ones are kick ass too. (:
my fav is sunny-side up with a pinch of salt in the center of the yoke. =)
Scrambled is the best, cause its the funnest way to cook `em =]
over easy…or sunny side up. love that yolk.
Well, I like my eggs scrambled, oh yeah and put some cilantro on it, and put cheese, swiss cheese!
I like my eggs scrambled dry, American diner-style. I can’t handle the French style of scrambling, which leaves them moist and creamy. It’s a texture thing….
My favorite is poached on toast with marmite, butter and jack cheese.
Definitely sunny-side up, the nice runny yolk is the very best part! Yummmmm! I make them every weekend for breakfast, absolutely wonderful! I will have to give your recipe a try, that sounds really good.
Alisha
sunny side up & scrambled…depends on how I feel that day.
scrambled, with some water or milk to make them fluffy. and maybe some cheese, if i’m in the mood. plus salt.
Scrambled, or boiled with the yolk still sort of runny… I tend to dislike any type of fried egg. >>;;
YUMMEH.
chicken in a basket (fried into a hole in a piece of toast) I tried it after I saw it on V for Vendetta
Scrambled (especially with some cream cheese scrambled in…. yum!), after that, I like Egyptian Winks (aka. egg in a hole… aka… whatever you want to call it) My dad likes that with maple syrup, but I do not. I also like omelettes with cheese or even just plain, and I like them over-easy, or hard-boiled (however, I like the white better than the yolk). Egg salad is also pretty good (on toast).
NOT MADE BY DREW EWWW
hahaha
scrambled with chesse and some hotsauce. straight simple and hits the spot.
Alton brown makes eggs better than you do.
egg fried in bread, ever done that one?
sunny side up.
sunny, sunny, sunny-side up!
i like mine over-medium…cooked well enough so that i dont question it, and runny just enough to be able to be sopped up by a slice of toast.
tempered into a custard style cheesecake
i dont really like eggs too much. but if i eat them its in a veggie and cheese omelette. or scrambled with lots of cheddar cheese. salt and pepper on both.
Ever try making based eggs? They’re so annoying.
1. Soft boiled with toast or 2. Sunny-side with bacon & mushroom
YUMMY~
I go through different stages or periods of time in which I love eggs cooked a certain way, then get tired of it, then love a different way and ditto. For instance, scrambled eggs. They used to be my reliable favorite but lately I’ve taken a liking to a whole fried egg with the yolk still runny when it’s poked or bitten into. I don’t think I’ve ever liked hard boiled eggs though. In soup or noodles, I always stir it up.
i like them over easy on rice. yummeh. although, deviled eggs are my favourite. but i hardly everrr get to eat them.
this reminds me of this restaurant in Sydney, Australia. it is known to have the best scrambled eegs in the world (according to NY Times as well..lol) http://www.bills.com.au/home.htm ehehe
I prefer my eggs made into an omelet with cheese but cooked in my omelet maker rather than in a frying pan. Next is lightly fried so the yolk is runny.
I like mildly scrambling my eggs in the pan. And overeasy. And poached. And deviled. And soft-boiled. Mm, potato egg salad. Steamed eggs. Scrambled eggs with enough hot sauce to turn orange. Eggs are the awesome. I wonder if an egg-flavored snack would do well.
I like them fully cook
I like them all! I prefer sunny side up for breakfast, omelet style for lunch and scrambled & soft boiled for dinner =)
I like them scrambled with cream cheese and tons of pepper!
i LOVEEEEEEEEE eggs. i can eat eggs every day and never ever get sick of them! i love my yolk undercooked, so i like sunny side/over easy/poached/soft boiled.
Sunny-side up. mmmmmm….
egg in bread.
scrambled
i can’t take eating the yolk alone
As a sous chef….I agree with the egg theory….I like my eggs which I get from my of chickens who run around in the sun and eat grass and bugs…this make a very good egg,
I Caramelize onions from the garden…add 3 eggs with 1 tbs of H2O….in the omelette pan…add fresh herbs and veggies from the garden ( thyme, tomatoes and chives is one of my favs) cook till just firm, browned on bottom, fold out of pan, slat and pepper and cheese….perfect dinner.
God I love eggs. Scrambled, sunny-side up, overeasy, I don’t care. Love em.
Either sunny side up or poached. I love a runny yoke!
wow. yummy… I like “Scrambled egg” too, and I am going to make every egg dishes you posted.
i love a good scrambled egg and bean burrito with a side of rice. i also love fried eggs with a slice of tomato on a biscuit. yumm!
I like my eggs turned into omelettes, otherwise it’s over-easy for me.
that viet steak and eggs looks to die for. i like my eggs sunny side up or soft boiled.
I like it to be egg omelet, with some ham in it. It’s delicious!
i love my eggs scrambled with a little bit of runny-ness to it…yum!
I like it all. I like softboiled with a bit of soy sauce.
I like hardboiled soy sauce with duck eggs.
I like it scrambled. I like it cooked to a slight crisp as an omelette.
I like it poached with hollandaise or whatever creamy sauce it is.
I like it poached with Ramen.
I like it as egg salad or deviled eggs.
I like it fried, served with a side of steamed rice and fried Spam.
I like it fried, in a sandwich with tomato and cheese.
I like it fried over medium, with soy sauce and steamed rice.
I like it steamed, with minced pork, scallions and tofu.
I like it in creamy egg custards or creme brulee.
I just plain love eggs.
But I will not eat/drink it raw. That I will not do.
(Unfortunately, too many = high cholesterol, as you well know.)
100 year old, cheese and mushroom omlet, over-medium with no pepper, mixed into a cake or something, on the side of somebody’s house er uh… forget that last one.
i love sunny side up (the asian way, with soy sauce), but scrambled is delicious with tabasco. (=
Scrambled atop a scallion pancake with a chinese fried stick (yeoh teow – sp?)
Scrambled is my favorite. I like cooking them in butter too. I’m going to try your recipe this weekend! I know they will be divine!
over medium, there is nothing better than soaking up the yoke with your toast to clean the plate.
Hard boiled. Or fried, but cooked very well… until it’s browned slightly. No salmonella, thanks!
I eat the fried ones with cheese and broccoli and sauce in a tortilla.
And pickled quail’s eggs… mmmmm.
I, too, love eggs. But there’s no way I choose a favorite way to eat them. My favorites include scrambled, over easy, hard-boiled and omelets. Mmm, eggs.
i love ur site. i’m a big fan of food. i like my classic eggs over easy served with maggi soysauce and a side of french bread. YUMM!!
over-easy if i’m just eating them, fried all the way through if i’m putting it on a sandwich. and cooking them in bacon grease always makes it 10 time better.
Dude scrambled eggs gets the job done for me. Its fast, fun, and easy. SO EASY A CAVEMAN CAN DO IT. LOL.
Basted……………also called blindfolded in south……………
i like my eggs with a soft middle. i like it on top of my “tuna sisig”.
i like them with bacon too. hoping to get more tips and recipes.
thanks.
Poached and served with tomatoes and basil as a summer lunch. Yum!
Oh man, I too would eat eggs at every meal if it wouldn’t kill me. When I was a kid I absolutely loved loved LOVED soft-boiled eggs, salted, with some crusty Italian bread toast. YUM.
–L
i like them made into omletts with lots of cheese and ham; the viet steak and eggs look delicious btw ; yummm =]
I like them hungover. With a Bloody Mary.
i love my egg without yoke! lol o_O cause it taste like…
com thich nuong, cha va chung op-la.
i like my eggs on top of com tam bi cha thit nuong!
i prefer them over easy but lately i’ve just been eating egg whites. damn health…
I love my eggs scrambled either with salsa or with a few tablespoons of basil and parmesean.
i love your page
In omelette form, with spinach, provolone, mozzorella, cheddar, tomatoes, lobster, and crab. It is so good!

Juicy
Over medium on top of toast..mmmm. However there is the occasional times where I like them scrambled with cheese and onions.
Wow- this blog makes me hungry.
I love scrambled and sunny side up- depends on my mood.
I wish I could make every kind of egg dish imaginable- I love eggs.
I love scrambled eggs.
Without the yolks.
Deviled are good, and I love them properly scrambled: not runny and not over-cooked. I am told I make a mean omelet, it is my specialty. But my personal favorite - get this: two fried with eyes shut between 3 blueberry pancakes. Am I crazy or what? No wonder my cholesterol is off the chart . . .
I don’t like eggs at all, but your photos of them are damn sexy!
well it depends what i am in the mmod for, some times scrambled with a sprinkling of tobasco sauce and other times sunny side up
eggs, by any other name, or cooking method… taste just as good.
you have 171 comments on eggs.
sure beats “…..”
Wow..that looks awesome! I am a big EGG fan. Be it in any form..I just love them. They so damn universal..I could live on them..(: Btw, going to try your recipe this weekend! Thanks!
Sunny side up with toast soldiers and bacon… With lots of ketchup!
TOAD IN THE HOLE………….
egg over easy in the middle od a slice of bread
Whisk them a bit with tabasco and black pepper. (or habanero if you’re adventurous) Lightly saute chopped up scallions, green pepper, and mushrooms, pour in the eggs along with a big handful of shredded cheddar, and do your folding trick until they are just set and the cheese melts. Don’t worry about the water that comes from the veggies, it’s delicious anyway!! Can be accompanied by a meat or just toast, and gallons of coffee!
That’s funny that you just posted that. I just asked my husband what the ruffles meant the other day. He is a graduate of Art Institute of Denver with a degree in Culinary Arts.

scrambled.. i would have eggs for every meal if I could, too..
soft boiled, broken up over toast, with fresh cracked black pepper and a pinch of sea salt. yum!
Scrambled! Mmm…
EGG IN A BASKET
I like them either scrambled or over hard for breakfast. I also like hardboiled and deviled eggs. Over easy or sunny side up really freaks me out, especially when people dip bread in the runny yolk…Yuck!
