I think it’s time that I apply for Top Chef. I’ve been missing in action for much too long.. Why not reemerge as the Top Chef? I’m not an Executive Chef, Private Chef, or even Restaurant Owner for that matter. Does going to culinary school prove that you’re a great chef? No way..
The application.. 1st step?
What is it that seperates me from the rest of the pack? I’m a Vietnamese guy born and raised in New Orleans.. I learned what good food tasted like from my mom’s home cooking and my travels to Vietnam. And I learned how to cook in an apprenticeship program in New Orleans. I know I’ll be a great addition to the Top Chef empire. Regardless it’s gonna be a great challenge and pretty damn fun!
This year’s Top Chef is lacking the drama we’ve come to expect. I hate it when the chefs whine about how they’re glad to be leaving early, that they were there to prove themselves and being on the show is proof enough… all that stuff is crap. You’re there to win. In it to win it! Bottom line!! If I lose on the first episode, I’ll take it like a man and say I suck. (or someone sabotaged me! lol) None of that “this was a good experience crap”! haha
My prediction for this year’s winner?
Hung - He’s a little arrogant.. but fundamentally sound. It’ll be good for Vietnamese Chefs everywhere.. but it will make my chances much more difficult if he does win.. bring it! haha
I’ll let you guys know if I make it… one in a Million, but I was featured on Xanga, so anything can happen, right? =)

Yeah, well, when you’re in the mix of things, people tend to cop-out when they feel like things aren’t gonna turn out the way they want them to. It’s human nature. Hence, the “this was a great experience” bull-crap they spew before and during the time they’re packing their knives.

definitely audition! I had a co-worker who did last year and she said it was really tough. She went to culinary school and worked mainly as a corporate caterer.
Of course he’s cocky! He’s friends with Marcel..
I think Marcel should’ve won last season.. I’m also rooting for Hung… he has very interesting ideas. But if you get to be on the show I’ll definitely root for you!!

hung has been my pick since the beginning…i’m a little reluctant to back him since he is so cocky, but this IS a competition. and i agree, def not dramatic enough…the season has kind of been a flat line from the begininning…you get on there and spice some things up next season! i would love that!
